Synopsis:
A playful experiment: the same text is repeated five times, yet each repeat unfolds into an entirely new story. “Repeat” defies narrative conventions, turning repetition itself into a storytelling experiment full of shifts in pace, tone and meaning – and culminating in a surprising final twist.
What happens when a text remains unchanged, but everything else – voice, tempo, relationships, soundscape, role distribution, and genre – is completely reconfigured? The radio play “Repeat” explores this very question. Across five scenes, the same text is delivered word for word, yet each repeat becomes a narrative game-changer. Whether it’s a Porsche heist, a dramatic death scene, the chaos of a sitcom kitchen, a horror movie night, or backstage with a rock band, two actresses and two actors perform all 20 roles, with each scene beginning with the same words where the previous one ended – and with every “repeat”, a new story unfolds.
The music isn’t just incidental, it is an essential part of the storytelling, building to a clever twist at the end. But: no spoilers!
A celebration of acting and theatrical craft! And a tribute to the electric guitar.
