Synopsis:
The series follows the story of Alex Gryger, an electrical engineer with a doctorate who works for the energy corporation Clear Energy. Some time ago, his father died of a heart attack, which changed him. In the first episode, he accidentally meets Luna, a young woman from the activist environmental group Darkers, in a bar. Gradually, we get to know other members of the organization, which Alex also joins. However, as it turns out, his actions have different motivations and goals.
The plot of this dystopian five-part series takes place in the near future. It is a thriller and action story of sorts, centered around Alex, a lone wolf who seeks revenge after his father's death. The series also touches on the pressing issue of climate change and environmental activism. It pits an activist group against a large energy corporation, with a desperate individual fighting against everyone in the middle. The series asks the question: where does good end and evil begin? The answer is neither simple nor clear-cut.
The author of the series Darkers is young screenwriter Josef Kokta, and it is his first work for Czech Radio. The series was created as digital content for Czech Radio's mujRozhlas website in collaboration with Radio Wave (a station for young listeners). It is also available on Spotify and other podcast apps.
