Synopsis:

The Fable of the Big-Headed Fox is a musical radio drama set on a fantastic island inhabited by animals native to Latin America, particularly species associated with Andean territories, who speak and relate to one another in ways that reflect human social and economic structures. After the death of his grandmother, the Big-Headed Fox is left completely alone and begins a journey across the island in search of food, survival, and a place to belong.

Driven by a restless and inquisitive nature, the Big-Headed Fox constantly questions the world around him and the rules that govern it. As he travels, he encounters other animals who embody different social, political, and economic roles, each revealing fragments of an order that shapes life on the island—and echoes Latam's realities beyond it. Throughout the journey, the Fox must confront his own ego, its limits, and the consequences of his actions, gradually gaining maturity in order to understand the deeper forces operating beneath everyday struggles and social structures.

The narrative functions as a clear allegory of Latin America’s economic and social order—one that systematically favors elites while condemning the majority to scarcity and exhaustion. This unequal system suppresses motivation, restricts social mobility, and normalizes sacrifice, forcing many to endure deprivation so that a privileged few may continue to thrive.

At its core, the work unfolds as a fable: through loss, memory, and the bonds formed along the journey, the story suggests that awareness alone is not enough, and that only care, solidarity, and a shared responsibility for others—recognizing one another as fellow beings, different yet equal in dignity—can open the possibility of lasting change.

Blending spoken drama, original songs, and immersive sound design, The Fable of the Big-Headed Fox operates both as a children’s fable and as a political allegory for adults, inviting reflection on power, inequality, leadership, and collective responsibility.
